The best saddle chair - Humantool proven to work

According to a study conducted by researchers at Kaunas University of Technology, sitting with balance reduces the likelihood of health problems. An evaluation of all the chairs used in the study revealed that the Humantool saddle chair had the most positive effect on the participants' health.

Physical immobility

In today’s society, people are increasingly discussing the benefits of physical activity, as physical inactivity is becoming a global health problem. A 2012 study showed that physical inactivity is among the top ten (out of 67) factors that pose the greatest health risks. Physical inactivity can cause cardiovascular disease or circulatory diseases. A study conducted by researchers at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) showed that sitting with balance can reduce the risks of physical inactivity.

The importance of physical activity is growing all the time, as sedentary work is so common. Companies are looking for ways to take care of their employees' health and increase their productivity. Sitting in a balanced position has been found to be one of the preventive measures, when replacing regular office chairs with a balancing and rocking chair or exercise ball. Frequent reflections on balanced sitting and whether it is really beneficial or just a trend, made KTU researchers interested in the effects of balanced sitting on human health.

Humantool Saddle Chair has the most beneficial effect on health

KTU researchers, together with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), organized a six-week study in the renovated biomechatronics laboratory of the Mechatronics Institute. The main goal of the study was to determine how posture and body muscle activity change when sitting on balance chairs, such as Thatsit balans, Back app and Humantool. The study utilized the latest systems, such as the Qualisys 3D motion analysis system and Noraxon electromyography measurement.

The participants in the study knew very little about proper sitting before the study, so the results can be considered fairly accurate. After six weeks, the back posture of the participants who sat on the balance chairs was better (the participant sat in a less slouched position) than when they were sitting on a regular chair. Balancing on a saddle chair also activates the deep muscles of the body, which are the main muscles that support the posture of the back. The deep muscles ensure correct posture and are responsible for postural balance and flexibility.

The evaluation of all chairs used in the study showed that the Humantool saddle chair had the most positive effect on the participants' health . Thanks to its particularly hard base, this saddle chair can be used on all types of chairs. This makes sitting balance possible for everyone, both in companies and at home. Special exercises performed on the saddle chair can help maintain physical activity throughout the sitting period. The exercises also reinforce the positive effect of this chair.

"The research shows that ergonomic seats are not only comfortable to sit on, but they also help increase physical activity and reduce the likelihood of health problems . People who care about their health should pay attention to creating an ergonomic workstation both at work and in the home environment," says Aurelijus Domeika, Director of the Biomechatronics Laboratory at the Institute of Mechatronics at KTU, summarizing the results of the research.

Poor sitting posture of the child

According to the researcher, parents should also ensure that their children develop proper sitting habits from an early age, especially for children who spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer. With education and properly selected preventive methods, the occurrence of chronic diseases could be effectively prevented.
